Tech giant Google officially announced on Thursday it will present its first foldable phone Pixel Fold at its annual developer conference Google I/O in California on May 10, APA reports citing Teletrader.

"Hear more about Pixel Fold at Google I/O. Tune in on May 10 to watch the livestreamed keynotes," Google's store page noted alongside a brief teaser video showcasing the phone's external display. The page allows signing up to receive more information once the smartphone becomes available.

According to a recent report from CNBC, the foldable smartphone's price will start at $1,700 once Google launches it in June, competing with Samsung's phones.

The phone's outside screen is expected to be 5.8 inches, with a battery lasting 24 hours. The Pixel Fold will reportedly be powered by Google's Tensor G2 chip, used in last year's Pixel 7 phones.
