The United States recognizes the possibility of Russia taking retaliatory measures after the imposition of sanctions against Channel One, Rossiya-1 and NTV, said Ned Price, State Department spokesman, APA reports citing TASS.
“We know that the Kremlin often takes equivalent measures,” he said, adding that the Russian authorities may try to do so.
Price emphasized that there are no analogies between these TV channels and US-funded organizations around the world.
He also added that we are talking about a ban on American companies from buying advertising on Russian channels, the amount of such contracts, according to him, is estimated at $300 million.
