Turkish Foreign Ministry has commented on the Syrian parliament's recognition of the so-called "Armenian genocide", APA's local bureau reports.

Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hami Aksoy told the APA Turkey bureau that the Syrian parliament's recognition of the 1915 events as "genocide" is a manifestation of hypocrisy.

"The step is a manifestation of the hypocrisy of a regime that has been carrying out all kinds of massacres without displacing children with its own people for years, displacing millions of people and well-known for its skill in using chemical weapons. The humanitarian drama caused by this regime is still going on, one of the most serious disasters in history is at our borders. The allegation of these unfounded claims by a cruel regime that has lost its international legitimacy is a clear indication of the distorted mentality behind the claims," Mr. Aksoy said.
