The Chairman of the CMO noted in his speech that the Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, with its victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, opened a new page in history: "Allah has given us this victory. Our people are one of the happiest nations. The architect of this victory is Heydar Aliyev. In 1993, the Azerbaijani people turned to him and invited him. The Azerbaijani army, the country's politics were weak, and we needed Heydar Aliyev. He restored independent Azerbaijan."
Sheikhulislam also recalled that when President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were in the Kaaba and read prayers for Karabakh, the souls of martyrs, the head of state said that a large mosque would be built in Azerbaijan.
"The enemy committed genocide on our lands, destroyed our mosques and churches. They even Armenianized the Orthodox Church in Shusha," said Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade.
