The Azerbaijani Community of Moscow has disseminated information regarding the roundtable meeting held by Azerros on March 12 at the Moscow House of Nationalities, ONA's Russian bureau reports.

In the information disseminated on behalf of the community head Shamil Taghiyev, the statements voiced during the roundtable meeting, titled “Nationalism and Extremism as a Threat to the State and National Security of the Russian Federation”, were condemned.

It was noted that the event, organized by Azerros, the federal national cultural autonomy of Azerbaijanis, was meant to defame the public leaders and activists working to strengthen interethnic relations and public ties between the nations of Russia living in Moscow and the Moscow region.

“After analyzing all the opinions voiced at the event, we found that offensive and false accusations were brought against the Head of the Azerbaijani Community of Moscow Shamil Taghiyev. We are sure that this provocation of the organizers, in the person of the head of the Moscow branch of Azerros Aghadadash Karimov and vice-president of the Russia Armenians Union Levon Mukanian was purposeful,” reads the information.

“This step by them shows presence of confusion and misunderstanding in some public organizations of Moscow. Aghadadash Karimov’s non-professionalism, incompetence and failure to show constructive activity are not accepted by the conscientious part of the Azerbaijani community, and we as a part of this community demand Karimov apologize for the insults voiced against us,” says the information.

On March 12, the Moscow House of Nationalities hosted a roundtable meeting, titled “Nationalism and Extremism as a Threat to the State and National Security of the Russian Federation”.
