CEC chairman: “3 political parties not nominated candidates to participate in parliamentary elections”

“3 political parties in Azerbaijan have not nominated candidates regarding the participation in early parliamentary elections to be held on February 9, yet,” the chairman of Central Election Commission Mezahir Penahov said at the meeting of CEC held today, APA reports.

He stated that 293 of 1611 persons applied to participate in early parliamentary elections, scheduled for February 9, 2020, to date, have been nominated by 17 political parties: “Candidates have not been nominated by 3 political parties to participate in elections yet. Probably, in upcoming future, those political parties will nominate their candidates.”

Note that early parliamentary elections will be held in Azerbaijan on February 9. The elections will cover 125 constituencies.
