Azerbaijani MP Gudrat Hasanguliyev has voiced dissatisfaction with a 10-percent increase in the salaries of parliament members.

Addressing a parliamentary session on Friday, Hasanguliyev said that such an increase in MPs’ salaries is rather low. He noted that the devaluation in recent years should be taken into consideration.

"It is necessary to do so that government officials would not seek other sources of income. The prime minister, parliament speaker should receive 10,000 manats, and the MPs should receive at least 8,000 manats," he added.

The MP pointed out Singapore as an example in the struggle against corruption.
