"Putin has repeated this rhetoric several times before. He is well aware of the consequences of nuclear war and understands that no one wins in a nuclear war," said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg commenting on the warning of the Russian leader about the use of nuclear weapons, APA reports.
According to Stoltenberg, NATO has clearly stated that it will respond appropriately to Russia's actions, and Moscow should not have any miscalculations in this regard.
"There was nothing unexpected in Putin's speech. It was not a surprise for us, we were preparing for it. We will continue to be restrained and calm. At the same time, we will continue our assistance to Ukraine," NATO Secretary General noted.
