Positive balance of trade turnover of Azerbaijan with Turkey sharply increases

During January-May of this year, the volume of the trade exchange with Turkey conducted by Azerbaijan made up $ 1,863,795.2 thousand which is $ 313,908.1 thousand or 20.2% more compared with the same period of the last year, "APA-Economics" reports according to results of the calculations conducted by it on the basis of the report of the State Customs Committee.

In the reporting period, the volume of the export from Azerbaijan to Turkey made up $ 1,249,605.8 thousand which is $ 267,002.1 thousand or 27.2% more compared with the same months of 2019. Meanwhile, the volume of import equaled to $ 614,189.4 thousand, and this indicator has increased by $ 46,905.9 thousand or 8.3% compared with the initial five months of the last year.

Consequently, during January-May, 2020 the positive balance of $ 635,416.5 thousand has developed which is $ 220,096.2 thousand or 53% more in annual comparison.
