The Armenian parliament has not adopted the opposition’s statement addressed to Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, APA reports citing Sputnik Armenia.
Only 29 of the 97 deputies who took part in the voting supported the draft document prepared on the initiative of the opposition “Hayastan” faction.
Others remained neutral.
Prior to the voting, there were 3-hours of negotiations between the government and the opposition.
The ruling faction did not like the words "the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh", "the Republic of Artsakh", "the right of self-determination of Nagorno-Karabakh" and a number of other expressions in the text of the statement.
