ICJ will consider the issue of the mine threat separately on the merits - Azerbaijani MFA

"The statement of the Armenian Prime Minister distorting the Court's decision regarding landmines shows that the Armenian side is still abdicating its responsibility in this matter. However, hearings at the Court have once again shown that the reports to international organizations that Armenia does not produce or bury mines are based on lies," APA reports citing the comment of Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry regarding the statement of Armenia's Prime Minister, Nikol Pahinyan on the decision of the International Court of Justice.

"This court decision does not exempt Armenia from violating its obligations, such as placing mines and mine traps in the territories of Azerbaijan, transporting mines manufactured in 2021 to the territories of Azerbaijan by misusing the Lachin road, and not providing exact maps of the mined areas. In general, let's note that the issue of the mine threat will be considered separately by the Court on the merits", it was noted.
