Jeyhun Bayramov received President of Turkish National Commission for UNESCO

On December 8, the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with a delegation headed by Öcal Oğuz, President of the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO, who visited our country to participate in the international scientific conference on "The Role of UNESCO Conventions Concerning the Protection of Cultural Properties and Aspects of Improving Their Implementation," APA reports ciitng the foreign ministry.

The sides discussed the fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkiye, as well as issues of close cooperation at the level of the National Commissions for UNESCO of the two countries. In this regard, the parties highlighted the importance of mutual support on joint submission of our common heritage belonging to the Turkic world to the relevant UNESCO heritage lists.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that during Armenia's 30-year-long aggression policy against Azerbaijan, a systematic policy has been implemented in the direction of destruction, looting, and appropriation of the cultural heritage of our country, and also spoke about the damage done to our cultural wealth during the past period, and the intentional change of the historical and cultural character of our cultural heritage. He informed about the existing threat of landmines in our territories and the serious humanitarian consequences caused by it.
