The emergency landing of a plane belonging to the airline "Qantas Airways" was announced at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport on the morning of December 23, said the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, APA reports.

"Airbus A380" of the airline operating the Singapore-London flight sent an emergency landing request to Baku airport due to smoke in the cargo compartment.

The plane landed successfully at 07:08 local time, and there were no injuries during the incident. There were 356 passengers on the plane.

All emergency rescue services have been prepared in response to the alarm signal issued at Baku airport.

The aircraft is currently being inspected, and a complex of necessary measures is being organized to determine all of the causes of the incident.

Noted that "Airbus A380" is the world's largest passenger plane with two decks.

Recalled that this is not the first emergency landing request sent by the captains of the A380 plane to the Heydar Aliyev International Airport. Not every airport in the world can handle such a large aircraft; a sufficiently long and continuous runway, as well as the requisite infrastructure to service the aircraft, are required.
