IRCC president made statement regarding exchange of corpses in Garabagh

According to the latest information, the parties to Garabagh conflict carried out exchange of corpses of 200 people, said president of the International Red Cross Committee (IRCC) Peter Maurer in his statement to RIA Novosti, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

According to him, IRCC will continue its efforts in this area.

“The priorities of activity of the organization in Nagorno Garabagh are to help internally displaces people, to carry out corpses of dead people, as well as to visit war prisoners in order to prepare for possible negotiations and exchange. As for carrying out of dead people, the parties started to take out and to exchange corpses with participation of the Russian peacekeepers and IRCC. According to the latest information that I have, 200 corpses have already been exchanged. We will continue to make our efforts”, P. Maurer stressed.

Remind that today, P. Maurer will hold negotiations with Russia’s minister of foreign affairs Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.
