Korotchenko: "Moscow must pressure on Armenia to give map of mined territories to Azerbaijan"
- 19 February 2021
"Armenia must give a map of mined territories in Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan absolutely," said editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine Igor Korotchenko at his speech in "Natsionalnaya Slujba Novostey" radio in the Moscow-Baku video-bridge held on the first visit of Russian Parliamentary to the Azerbaijani territories, liberated from occupation, APA's correspondent in Moscow reports.
According to him, there are hundreds of kilometers of mined territories in Aghdam and Fuzuli districts: "Provision of security of return of civilian Azerbaijanis, internally displaced from their native territories 30 ago, is difficult without a map. Unfortunately, we do not see goodwill of the Armenian side in this issue. Armenia does not want to give a map of mined territories. It demonstrates a non-constructiveness as always."
Russian military expert is sure that there is a map of mined territories on the Armenian side: “Armenian servicemen are graduates of the Russian military school. According to the instruction, the maps of the mined territories are definitely designed. A copy of these maps should be kept at the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces. It is impossible otherwise. Therefore, I consider that the international community, co-chair countries, especially Moscow should make pressure on Armenia for giving these maps to the Azerbaijani side. Of course, Russia should play a special role in this issue. Because Russia is interested in the development of the situation peacefully, in the return of full-scale peaceful life to the region. Without a map of mined areas, this process can be very late. Moreover, Armenia does not present the map of mined territories to the Azerbaijani side, it is a big threat to the activity of Russian peacekeepers in the region."
