Azerbaijani MFA: It needs political commitment by Armenian leadership in order to advance negotiation process

“Armenian leadership has not demonstrated good will in fulfilling requirements of the international community and as a result it ended in its isolation from broad regional cooperation, resulted in deep social – political crisis in the country”, said Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov in his interview to “Kommersant” newspaper, ONAreports.
The Minister stated that currently Azerbaijan expects healthy attitude from new Armenian leadership: “We hope they will understand that without regulating relations with Azerbaijan and integrating in broad regional cooperation it is not possible to move Armenia from crisis with its aggression and occupational policy. We gave a time to the new Armenian leadership to get acquainted with details of negotiation process. This transition period is over and negotiations are restored in the level of both leaders of countries and the foreign office heads. I have met with my Armenian counterpart in January in Paris with organization of OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and in April in Moscow with the participation of the Russian foreign minister. Dialog is held within current format, according current agenda and it creates optimism.
Minister added that alongside statements are sounded from Armenian that shadow the structure of political regulation: “Certainly, it creates concerns. It needs political commitment by Armenian leadership in order to advance negotiation process.
