"A year and a half after the commissioning of the TAP project, which is the main and final stage of the Southern Gas Corridor, Azerbaijan has become a natural gas exporter to three European countries, along with Turkiye and Georgia," said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev while delivering a speech on the subject of "Azerbaijan's role in ensuring energy security at the 48th edition of the international Cernobbio Forum held in Italy, APA reports.
Head of state noted that 13,5 bln cubic meters of gas were exported to Europe during the last period, and 11,7 billion cubic meters of this falls to the share of Italy: "This year we plan to further increase the volume of gas and to export about 10 billion cubic meters of gas to the Italian market," said Azerbaijani President.
