More than 29 million babies were born in crisis areas in 2018, UNICEF said, APA reports citing Tellerreport.
In countries such as Afghanistan, Somalia, Syria, South Sudan or Yemen, every fifth baby has spent the first part of his life worldwide, Unicef said.
"Besides the obvious direct dangers, the long-term consequences of such a launch into life can be catastrophic"; UNICEF boss Henrietta Fore said. "What these families need is peace - but by then they desperately need more support to deal with the devastation around them - 29 million new lives and their future depend on it."
