Inflation is forecasted at 12,5 percent in Azerbaijan, Minister says

“Based on the instructions of Azerbaijani President, taking into account macro economic indicators of the past five months of 2022, and positive dynamics on the implementation of the state budget, on the other side, probable risks, the country’s macro economic forecasts were reconsidered,” Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov said during the discussion of the draft law "On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan" On State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022 "(first reading) at a joint meeting of the Parliamentary Committees on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship, and Labor and Social Policy, APA reports.

According to him, GDP is forecasted to increase by AZN 115,4 bln in nominal terms, the speed of real increase speed to 5,5 percent, as well as non-oil GDP by up to 65,7 bln by the end of the current year, during that period average annual inflation is projected to be at the level of 12,5 percent.
