New archaeological monuments of Middle Ages discovered in Lankaran

Material and culture samples were discovered during the construction works carried out in the Veladi village of Lankaran, and the Lankaran Regional Scientific Center was contacted regarding the discovery of items.

Unglazed and glazed pottery from the Middle Ages was discovered in the trench dug in connection with the construction of a fence in the new neighborhood located between the villages of Veladi and Germatuk on the right bank of Lankaranchay. Pottery found in the area indicates the presence of a settlement of the 9th-11th centuries with a cultural layer thickness of more than 1 m and an area of approximately 2 ha.
