“We give priority to attract tourists from Middle East and Central Asia”, said State Tourism Board Executive Director Florian Sengstschmid at the V General Assembly of the Azerbaijan Hotel Association, APA reports.
He stressed that attracting Asian markets is especially difficult: “However thanks to our brand I believe that we will achieve tourism flows from there. Before Azerbaijan was only known for its oil. But now the brand has new elements. We should especially focus on green economy, national traditions and cuisine. We will include new elements to the brand in 2023 as well”.
Executive Director also highlighted that global tourism came back in 2022: “The estimates indicated that there will be a comeback in the field of tourism. But we did not expect it to be so fast”.
