Ex-Defense Minister of Azerbaijan Rahim Gaziyev detained, he is accused of public incitement and provocation against the state

On July 12 and 13, at a time when military operations were carried out on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border in connection with enemy provocations and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan regularly informed the public about it, former Defense Minister Rahim Gaziyev purposefully spread inappropriate news about the events on social media and reasonable suspicions have been found that these acts aimed at weakening its defense capabilities of the Republic of Azerbaijan, provoking people to riots and openly calling for the seizure of state power, APA reports the press service of the State Security Service and the Prosecutor General's Office.

Rahim Gaziyev was detained as a suspect in a criminal case under Articles 281 (public incitement against the state) and 282 (Provocation) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The State Security Service currently continues investigative measures on the initiated criminal case
