The trial was declared open in the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, chaired by Judge Azad Majidov.
The prosecutor announced the indictment.
According to the indictment, the accused persons illegally obtained firearms, ammunition, explosives and devices and formed armed groups not envisaged in law.
Those people illegally passing the state border on November 17 last year have taken a position in the forested areas in the Hadrut settlement of the Khojavand region. They are charged for committing terror propaganda in those territories until December 13 last year. Thus, the accused people have carried out armed attacks and committed explosions, fires and other acts of terrorism in order to violate public safety create panic among the population and influence the decision-making by the Azerbaijani state authorities and international organizations causing a threat to the death of people, damage to their health, significant property damage, and other socially dangerous consequences.
The judge noted that if the act of accused people approves in the court investigation, they can be sentenced to 14 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
The pause was announced in the process. After the pause, the accused people will testify.
