4.7-Richter quake jolts central Iran

An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale struck Vanak, on the border of Isfahan and Charmahal and Bakhriari provinces on Tuesday, APA reports citing IRNA.

According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the earthquake occurred at 08:38 local time (03:53 GMT) at the depth of 10 km underground.

The epicenter of the quake was located at 51.21 degrees longitude and 31.66 degrees latitude.

No report has so far been released on the likely casualties or damage to the property.
