The presidential election in Azerbaijan was organized at a high level, Yassine Lamour, deputy head of the French-Azerbaijani inter-parliamentary friendship group said at a press conference in Baku on April 12, APA reports.
“There was great enthusiasm in people during the voting,” Lamour said, stressing that the election was held in accordance with international standards.
Lamour noted that France is a friend of Azerbaijan.
“Sometimes they accuse the French of speaking in one way here and in other way in France. No, that's not true. I will tell in France what I have seen here. There are friendly relations between the peoples of France and Azerbaijan,” he said.
France sees Azerbaijan as an ally in the fight against terrorism, Lamour said, adding. “I hope this alliance will continue in the future.”
