288 ha of valuable Araz oak forests completely destroyed during during occupation

"Nature, biodiversity, whole ecosystem of the region was seriously damaged as a result of the occupation, it led to degradation of the environment in many cases, at the same time ecological balance was destroyed as a result of ruthless exploitation of natural resources," said Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Vugar Karimov at an event on "The state of the environment and natural resources in the Eastern Zangazur and Karabakh economic regions of Azerbaijan", APA reports.

“288 hectares of specially valuable Araz oak forest area have been completely destroyed. Unfortunately, we would like to say that the restoration of destroyed natural monuments will not be possible,” V. Karimov noted.
