Moscow supports intensification of the work of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs on the Karabakh settlement by taking into account new regional realities, Zakharova says

“Normalization of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations is in the focus of Moscow. Our policy in this field is active,” said official representative of the Russian MFA Mariya Zakharova at the briefing held today, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

“Our main efforts are focused on implementation of trilateral agreements. There are solution of humanitarian problems in Karabakh, descalation of tension on Armenian-Azerbaijani border, opening of economic and transport relations in South Caucasus region among priorities. With adequate consideration of the new regional realities, we believe that the co-chairs could help to strengthen confidence between Yerevan and Baku, as well as to resolve humanitarian issues. Currently, the new Russian co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Igor Khovaev, started a regional visit. He has already held negotiations with the Azerbaijani leadership, similar contacts in Yerevan are ahead."
