“Number of coronavirus cases may increase as the weather gets colder. The weather is cold in recent days, the use of indoor spaces will increase even more,” head of the working group of the Azerbaijani Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB) Vasif Aliyev told APA.
According to him, now people do not meet with one another outdoors, and the narrowing of social distance leads to the higher the risk of transmission of the virus.
“The present situation is not good at all. When the number of tests are increased, the number of infections also increases as much. Sometimes we see that there is a little number of infections, but on those days, the number of tests is less. Approximately 10% of tests result positively. When the number of tests is 10 thousand, the number of infections is 1000, and when it is 12 thousand the number of infections is approximately 1200. In other words the more the number of tests increases, the higher is the probability of the test resulting positively. Taking into consideration cooling of weather, great number of sick people, I think the infection cases will increase,” Vasif Aliyev said.
V.Aliyev noted that the ending of war with victory by Azerbaijan is a good news: “People’s attention will be directed rather to rear front than to forefront. Both the bringing of wounded people and funeral ceremonies of the martyred people will be a reason for gathering of people. And as people will massively gather in this case, the people infected with COVID are recommended not to come to such ceremonies. At least, they shouldn’t hide this and should inform this to people. Sometimes when people think they want to do kindness may infect many people. Therefore sick people shouldn’t go out of house. Due to such gatherings, the number of infection with disease may again go towards growth."
