Azerbaijan temporarily restricts import of poultry and breeding egg from Nigeria

The Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan implements the relevant measures in order to protect against infectious animal diseases that may enter the territory of our republic on the basis of information entering to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) in accordance with the epizootic situation in the world, the FSA told APA.

In accordance with the information of the World Organisation for Animal Health, Highly pathogenic avian influenza has been reported in Kano, Niger, Nasarawa, Kaduna, Gombe, Bauchi, Plato, Lagos, and Edo states of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In order to protect against infectious animal diseases that may enter the territory of our republic, a temporary restriction has been imposed on the import of all kinds of poultry and breeding eggs from these states of Nigeria.
