Deputy minister: “Azerbaijani firefighters coming to Turkey do their best to extinguish fire”

“It is a third day that our firefighters continue the fight against forest fires in Turkey,” said Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan Etibar Mirzeyev, APA reports.

The Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to media representatives for broadcasting the activity of Azerbaijani firefighters: “You, media representatives come here together with our firefighters in the first stage, we are really proud of you. Because you convey our effort to all of the world. In addition, I want to note that 54 fire extinguishing equipment and about 250 live forces sent from Azerbaijan in the second stage are currently moving in the direction of Ankara. We have planned that tomorrow about at 12:00-02:00 they to arrive at the site. After that our strength will further increase and we will fight stronger against fires. At that moment hear of Azerbaijani people stand by our Turkish brothers. Everyone is looking forward to hearing the news about extinguishing the fire. Employees of Azerbaijani MES do their best to prevent the spread of the fire and attempt to localize and extinguish the fire, and they will achieve it.”

E. Mirzayev has brought to the attention that Azerbaijan has friendly and brotherly relations with Turkey: “During the 44-day war, the Turkish state and the Turkish people have always stood with us and gave us moral support. Today, we stand by the Turkish people and state, not only with firefighters but also with members of the media and the entire nation”.

The Deputy Minister added that additional forces sent from Azerbaijan will be at the “Crisis Center” to clarify the tasks set after arriving in Turkey and the steps to be taken to extinguish the new fire areas: “The works here will be coordinated together with the representatives of the relevant ministry. We will discuss every day what we did after the fire and what we will do tomorrow. You will witness how strong we work after the coming of our new forces. According to the information given to me, the main fire points are in the Mersin district. We will continue our activities in any region that was separated for us”.

Deputy Minister said that helicopter coming from Azerbaijan implements fire extinguishing operations: “Our helicopter is already implementing watering operation, works will be continued too.”
