A new academic year begins in Azerbaijan today, APA reports.
In the 2021-2022 academic year, education will be traditionally organized in stages in all educational institutions of the country.
I-IV grades of general education institutions will start teaching traditionally on September 22, 2021. In the 2021-2022 academic year, 643,333 students are expected to study in grades I-IV.
From September 29, traditional teaching will begin in all grades of general education institutions, as well as in out-of-school, vocational, secondary and higher education institutions.
In the 2021-2022 academic year, a total of 1,589,829 students are expected to study in general education institutions of the republic. 158,608 students will study in the first grade, 132,881 in the ninth grade and 91,538 in the eleventh grade.
It is expected that 117,176 students will be involved in education in school-preparatory groups of general education institutions in the country.
471,661 students will study at the schools subordinated to the Baku City Education Department.
At present, 309 primary schools, 3333 secondary schools, 775 general secondary schools, 13 special general secondary schools and 5 full-time (evening) secondary schools, including 64 school-lyceums, 54 lyceums, 15 gymnasiums and 16 integrated schools are trained in the country. There are 4435 boarding schools, including 1 boarding school with integrated training.
