The Canadian government announced on Tuesday that it has added another 43 individuals and 17 defense entities to the list of sanctions imposed on Moscow in response to Russia's military operation in Ukraine, which began in February, APA reports citing Teletrader.

According to the government's statement, military personnel previously accused by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense of alleged involvement in the events in Bucha are now included on the expanded sanctions list. However, the government has not revealed the precise reason for the newly imposed restrictions on Russian entities.

In June, Canada imposed a ban on certain gold imports from Russia in order to keep the commodity out of formal global markets. Furthermore, the country recently restricted industrial manufacturing in Russia, making it illegal for Canadian services to contribute to the production of goods manufactured by these sectors.
