Gazprom temporarily suspends transportation of gas to Turkey via Blue stream

Russia’s Gazprom Company plans to suspend gas provision to Turkey via Blue stream pipeline during May 13-19 due to preventive maintenance works, a source in Gazprom told TASS, "APA-Economics" reports.

"Gazprom Company is planning the implementation of the preliminarily scheduled maintenance works on the Blue stream gas pipeline on Russia’s territory during May 13-19", the company stated.

The Blue stream pipeline has been designed to deliver the Russian gas to Turkey by carrying it through the third party countries and via the Black Sea. The total length of the gas pipeline is 1,213 km. The rated annual transportation capacity is 16 bln. cubic meters. The pipeline was commissioned on December 30, 2002. The delivery of gas via Blue stream pipeline was started in February of 2003.
