Azerbaijan sees 5.5% decline in oil production, 3% in gas production

In 2017, total production in mining sector amounted to AZN 27.7 billion, down 3.9% from previous year.

According to State Statistical Committee, crude oil production made up 38.7 million tonnes, marketable gas – 18.2 billion cubic meters.

In 2017, 38,777,500 tonnes of crude oil were produced in the country, down 5.5% in comparison to a year earlier. As of January 1, 2018, finished products made up 256,900 tonnes. Of this, 38,700,200 tonnes were marketable oil, down 5.6% compared to 2016.

In the reporting period, 28,563,500,000 cubic meters of natural gas were produced in the country, down 2.6% from 2016. Of this, 18,157,900,000 cubic meters made up marketable gas, down 3% by contrast to a year earlier.
