“Tale Heydarov resigned yesterday as president of the Gabala Sports Club. His decision to resign after 13 years on this position will allow the club to smoothly carry out leadership change for the 2019-2020 season,” ONA reports citing the Club’s announcement.

“Under Tale Heydarov’s leadership, Gabala Sports Club has had grand achievements, becoming one of the most successful teams in the country by rising from a small ground to the Azerbaijan Premier League.”

Gabala, two years in a row, advanced to the UEFA Europa League Group Stage, says the announcement.

Commenting on his departure, Tale Heydarov said he believes that the Club will succeed even more.

“It was fantastic to see the Club develop over 13 years and I am proud of our achievements. Now it is time for me to leave this position and give the opportunity to someone else to take this great Club to new victories. I thank the Club’s employees, players and, most importantly, its fans for bringing the Club to its present level, and I know they will have even greater success,” said Tale Heydarov.

Tale Heydarov’s resignation from the Club will not affect the opening of the Ronaldinho Soccer Academy in Baku this year.
