World record-woman made farewells to Azerbaijan national team - EXCLUSİVE

It was revealed that why Slovakia-born Jana Kulan had not taken part in the squad of Azerbaijan’s national team, prepared for Olympics Qualification Tournament, APA reports.
The striker, involved to our national team by nationalizing in 2012, did not take part in preparations of the competition, which will be held in Brazil, as she accomplished her career.
Thus, our volleyball players started preparations for licensee for Tokyo-2020 after European Golden League. However although Mrs. Kulan’s name was mentioned among 30 candidates, she was removed from final list.
The reason of the world record-woman’s refusal from invitation of Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation was her willingness to leave the national team. It was approved by manager of the 32-year-old striker during conversation with our cooperator: “Yes, she was invited to the national team. However, Yana had informed the federation on the completion of her national career. Additionally, her participation in competitions was impossible from medical point of view. Her doctor did not allow her to play after a stressful season in Japan. Kulan has always been proud of representing Azerbaijan. However the sportswoman decided it was time to make her farewell to the national team and pave the way for the young”.
