The Azerbaijani chess player Teimour Radjabov has commented on suspension halfway of the Candidates’ tournament held in Russia’s Yekaterinburg city after its I half, Apasport.az website reports.

The grandmaster having gained pass ticket for participation in this competition, but refused to travel to Russia due to spread of coronavirus pandemic has shared a post on his Instagram page.

Teimour considered expedient to give a short answer to the question about reasons of suspension of the tournament by FIDE after 7 rounds: “No word can express my present feelings”.

Note that Radjabov put forward the requirement of cancellation of the competition as early as before its start, and he didn’t want to play in that tournament due to FIDE’s insistence in holding this tournament.
