Russia’s government has tasked the Transport Ministry with signing the agreement on transfer of Belarusian petroleum products in Russian ports, according to a decree by the cabinet published on the official website of legal information on Wednesday, APA reports citing TASS.

"To task the Russian Transport Ministry with holding the talks with the Belarusian side and upon reaching an agreement to sign on behalf of the government of the Russian Federation the mentioned agreement, allowing changes to the attached draft that are not of principal nature," the document said.

The draft agreement stipulates volumes amounting to 9,836 mln tonnes in 2021-2023.

The document stipulates concluding take-or-pay contracts on transfer in Russian ports. If the volume of transfer by a Belarusian cargo shipper is less than contracted, the sea terminal still receives the payment for the whole agreed volume.
