Russian Minister of Defence, army general Sergey Shoygu has explained some details of fire occurred on the submersible belonging to Military Navy Fleet in Barents Sea, APA’s Russian Bureau reports.
Visiting Severomorsk city in order to investigate the accident, Russian minister held a meeting.
He stated that military servicemen demonstrated heroism and firstly evacuated civil representatives of submersible: “They put out the fire and saved their friends and deep-water equipment.”
Russian minister emphasized that 7 of died people were fleet flag officer 1st rank, 3 were fleet flag officer 2nd rank, and 2 were Russian hero.
Mr. Shoygu noted died captains would be awarded state rewards.
