Armenia plans to introduce women’s voluntary military service in the army

" Armenian authorities plan to introduce women’s voluntary military service in the armed forces in the near future," said Prime Minister of the country, Nikol Pashinyan, APA reports citing RIA Novosti.

“We plan to introduce a completely new institution – women’s voluntary military service – in the Republic of Armenia in the near future,” the message, the text of which was published on the government’s website, said.

Pashinyan also expressed his gratitude to the women who served, including in combat. under the contract.

The Prime Minister also reported that the process of replacing quarterly military training camps with monthly or 25-day camps has been initiated. He also added that the authorities are working to equip the army with modern weapons and military equipment and are trying to encourage domestic manufacturers as much as possible.
