“The development of tourism is rapidly going on in Azerbaijan. We should look at this area more systematically, rather than sit down and wait for guests. We must attract tourists ourselves," Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to the results of socioeconomic development of the first quarter of 2018 and future tasks, APA reports.
The head of the state said that the improvement work will be carried out in this area: "Unfortunately, there were great irregularities in this area. We canceled visas. Because tourists coming to the airports were suffering and demanded groundless money. We have removed this shamelessness. These offenses, these violations, and the perpetrators of these crimes have also been brought to criminal responsibility. Everyone knows that these crimes will not be unpunished. But we have to create a system so that we can attract more tourists. Now a new system is created at the airports and will be applied in the next month. For all our border crossing points, guests must have the maximum comfort.”
