Azerbaijan initiates criminal case on provocation committed by Armenia on border

On September 12, at night units of Armenian armed forces committed large-scale provocation in the direction of Dashkesen, Kalbajar, Lachin, and Zangilan of the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border, by grossly violating norms and principles of international law, Geneva Convention dated 1949, and its additional protocols, decisions and resolutions of the UN Security Council, the requirements of the trilateral statement dated November 10, 2020, signed among Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, APA reports.

Diversion groups of the Armenian armed forces have mined the areas and supply roads between the positions of the units of the Azerbaijani Army in different directions, using the mountainous relief of the area and existing ravines in the dark.

Criminal cases have been launched in Ganja, Gubadli, and Kalbajar military prosecutor's offices, under articles 100.1 (planning, preparing, or waging a war of aggression), 100.2 (waging a war of aggression), 116.0.7 (attacking undefended areas, settlements, and demilitarized zones), 120.2.7 (killing two or more persons), 120.2 .12 (homicide with the intention of national, racial, religious enmity or enmity) and other articles of the Criminal Code, based on the collected materials on the incident occurred, operative investigation measures are underway by establishing investigative groups.
