The European Council approved on Tuesday Croatia's accession to the Eurozone on January 1, 2023, at a conversion rate of 7.53450 kunas per euro, APA reports citing Tele Trader.

The European Central Bank (ECB) noted that the determined rate is the same as the level of the current central rate of the Croatian kuna in the exchange rate mechanism (ERM II). The institution added that it will, along with the Croatian National Bank (HNB) "monitor developments in the Croatian kuna against the euro on the foreign exchange market until 1 January 2023."

Croatia's bid to join the euro area was previously approved by the European Parliament.
