The European Commission's Health Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA) announced on Tuesday it signed an agreement with Bavarian Nordic to purchase 110,000 doses of its third-generation monkeypox vaccine, APA reports citing Teletrader.

According to the statement published on the European Commission's website press corner, this agreement will give European Union Member States, Norway and Island easy access to vaccines in response to the current monkeypox outbreak. This is the first time the EU budget is being used through the EU4Health program to directly purchase vaccines for the Member States.
