“Turkiye makes an unbelievably great contribution to European security,” said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, APA reports.
The minister noted that Europe’s borders from the South begin not from Greece, but from Turkiye: “In a wider meaning, a part of the geography of Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, even Kazakhstan are in Europe. Europe’s and NATO’s borders in the South start with Turkiye. In other words, Turkiye is the most important actor in terms of the fight against terrorism. We are the only NATO alliance that conducts an active fight against ISIS. We fought against terrorists coming from 125 countries. NATO always appreciates Turkiye’s role. However, the same word can not be said for the European Union.”
