Europe will have to coexist with Russia after the cessation of hostilities in Ukraine, so it is necessary to continue dialogue with Moscow, said Josep Borrell, the High Representative European Union Foreign Affairs and Security Policy in an interview Le Journal du Dimanche, APA reports citing Lenta.ru.
Borrell commented on the words of the President of France Emmanuel Macron that “Russia cannot be humiliated”, noting that this statement “reflects reality”.
According to the head of European diplomacy, “Russia will continue to exist after the peace talks.” Europe, he noted, will need to clearly “define how to live with it.”
“Such coexistence will be very difficult after what Russia has done in Ukraine. <...> But all the same, you will have to try to coexist with the Russians on this continent. <...> We must continue to talk with Russia,” the diplomat summed up.
