UK Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said the West could face the threat of full-scale war with Russia and China by the end of the decade, APA's Britain bureau reports citing Financial Times.
He also called defense preparation a paramount state task for many Western countries.
“By the end of the decade, the world will become a more dangerous and unstable place, and defense will be more important to our lives. I think there’s going to be a clash with a series of opponents around the world… We all have to be prepared for that,” Wallace said.
In addition, according to him, the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will not be another breakthrough that will lead to the end of the conflict, but Britain will be in a state of full readiness to respond to any use of weapons of massive destruction in Ukraine.
