Two Azerbaijani boxers won Golden belt series in Morocco-PHOTO

The first tournament of the IBA World Boxing Tour Gold Belt Series in Marrakech, Morocco has been completed, APA reports.

Azerbaijani boxer tested their strength at the tournament and grabbed 2 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals.

Umid Rustamov, who struggled in the 57 kg category, faced Russian Eduard Savvin in the final. Our boxer, who fought confidently in all 3 rounds, won the championship with a score of 5:0 (29:28, 30:27, 29:28, 30:27, 29:28).

Nabi Iskanderov (67 kg), an athlete of Ganja Boxing School, tested his strength against Tarkhan Idigov (Russia) in the final. As a result of a confident fight, Iskanderov defeated his opponent with a score of 4:1 (29:28, 29:28, 28:29, 30:27, 30:27) and played the Azerbaijani anthem in Morocco.

Alfonso Dominguez, who fought in the 86 kg category, was satisfied with the silver medal.

Thus, our national team completed the first tournament of the year, attended by 201 boxers from 34 countries, with 5 medals. Masud Yusifzadeh (51 kg) and Sarkhan Aliyev (71 kg) won bronze medals in our team.
