“Over the past 5 years the share of social expenditures increased in budget expenditures,” said Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov at the meeting of Milli Majlis held today, APA reports.
The minister said that the increase of social expenditures of the state budget for 2021 made up 5.3%: “Continuation of measures to create new jobs within the framework of employment measures in the country, providing assistance to the sensitive group of the population in connection with the pandemic, payment of new student loans, as well as tuition fees for children from families of the sensitive group caused an increase in social expenditures.
The pandemic and the negative consequences of the pandemic have also affected Azerbaijan. As a result of those effects, state budget revenues decreased. Mainly, I mean tax and customs transfers. Along with the pandemic, the Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev ended the occupation of ancient Azerbaijani lands for 44 days. We should take into account all the processes. The main priority issue for us in 2021 is to rebuild Karabakh and achieve the reintegration of Karabakh into the economy of Azerbaijan.”
