The World Bank's Board of Directors has approved the appointment of Sarah Michael as the bank's new manager for Azerbaijan, the World Bank Office in Azerbaijan told APA-Economics.
According to the bank's Baku office, Sarah Michael, who has worked at the World Bank for many years, will replace Naveed Naqvi. Sarah Michael will take office on July 1 this year.
The World Bank Manager for Azerbaijan is appointed every four years.
Azerbaijan has been a member of the World Bank since 1992. So far, the bank has allocated more than $ 3.5 billion in loans to Azerbaijan.
